The Beginning has Begun

Well, the journey has begun. I've been in Denver now for almost a full month and so far I can't complain, unless you want to talk about how I can't seem to get much phone reception, but I will spare you those details.

I've decided to write this blog to keep family and friends updated on my journey out West. I have dear, childhood friends that relocated to the area about six years ago. For the most part I have spent a decent amount of money traveling out here almost every year if not twice to visit them and explore the great state of Colorado. I've always had a desire to move out here each and every time I visited my friends. It wasn't until last May when I came out to visit and go backpacking where I decided to make the move after graduate school. It all seems to make sense; I am backpacking through these gorgeous forests with some of the best people. After having a few life changes occur in my life a light went off and I said, that's it, I am moving here next summer. So forward a year later and I packed my car, left my seven year job as an event consultant, picked up my Masters in Human Resource Development and said good-bye to the most enormous support system of loving family and amazing friends to start this new journey in my life.

The past four weeks have been filled with day trips to Confluence Park, where we have ridden, $1, rafts down the Platte river rapids. Our first attempt was without the rafts, but I soon realized I wasn't about to test my new insurance plan. (Photo below)

We also watched Edward Scissorhands at Film on the Rocks, which of course is located at Red Rocks.

I have found my way to numerous places only to have gotten lost multiple times. Those places include; Jazz in the Park, riding the bus downtown to the library and locating a kick ball game at one of the numerous parks. With that I'm sure there will be more places to get lost and discover.

I'm happy to say I still love it here and I feel as if I am home, minus all of the loving family and amazing friends I have left. I have a very loving and supportive boyfriend and some really great people out here that I can call friends and family. I am sure as I rediscover myself and Denver I will meet more amazing people to bring into my new life.

Until next time,
~B
